Quests ​

What the quests teach, ask for and pay out. How the book itself looks and behaves is in The quest book, and the crop quests are under Crops NH.

Quests for the late-game machines ​

The tier tabs have quests for this release's late-game machines: the Large Hadron Collider and beamcrafting, the Nanochip Assembly Complex, the Exo-Foundry and its modules, the Power ICs and Planck circuits, and the Bose-Einstein Condensate line with the Stargate parts. Every tab from UEV on was rearranged to fit them. The Pico Circuit quest now requires the Nanochip Assembly Complex.

Quests for the new early and mid-game machines ​

The Coke Oven quests now teach the GregTech Coke Oven, with a quest of its own for the Coke Oven Hatch. The Without Dying line walks through every tier of Mechanical Armor and its augments.

Mass Processing has quests for the Steam Hearth, which replaces the Steam Oven, the Spinmatron and the L.A.T.E.X. Cable Coater. Adept Thaumaturgy has one for the Magical Maintenance Hatch.

Bee quests ​

The bee lines have quests for the bees behind Kevlar, Infinity and Cosmic Neutronium, and the end-game bees give different rewards. New quests cover the Infernal, Salt and Attuned bees, and the Oblivion Frame quest explains how to breed with oblivion frames.

Binnie's Genetics follows what you actually need now. The Hatchery has its own quest, and the Splicer and the Isolator share one that either completes. The Gene Database, which needs an EV circuit, is part of the main line, and the Analyser quest is gone.

Lootbags and coins ​

Lootbag upgrades are Vending Machine trades instead of assembler recipes: three bags of one tier buy one of the next, with no cooldown, and a quest unlocks each trade. The Coins Coins Coins tab is gone. A quest of that name now introduces the Vending Machine, and the Vending Uplink Hatch has a quest in the Applied Energistics tab.

New quests for tools, blocks and tricks ​

A quest in And So It Begins gives you the in-game Guide and explains how to load it. Tools and blocks that had no quest have one now: the Field Engineer's Toolbox, which replaces the IC2 toolbox quest, the Network Analyzer, the Conduit Probe, Ender Fluid Conduits, the Turbo Charger, the Certus Quartz Tank, the Chaos Locator, the decorative trowel and the ModernMarkings blocks.

Other new quests cover where geodes are and what their calcite and amethyst are for, the Fluorophlogopite chain at HV, mana glass as EV-tier glass, and the Soulbound enchantment. The Burden of Knowledge warns that the Potion of Blissful Oblivion takes your Thaumcraft research along with your warp. The Matter Manipulator quests describe its Advanced Options.

Tasks that read the way they work ​

A quest that takes any one of several items asks for them in a single task, so the book shows one list to pick from instead of a row of tasks. Every crafting task now counts items you crafted before the quest unlocked.

Each tier's tab is drawn in that tier's colour. In Mass Processing, every multiblock quest asks for the controller and lists the parts in an optional task.

Ice cream and Heavenly Fire trophies ​

Eating the Trophy Ice Cream after collecting every ice cream earns the Ice Cream Champion Trophy, tracked by a hidden quest. The Ice Ice Baby quest in Feeding Yourself points you to the ice creams.

Smaller quest fixes ​

Smaller fixes across the book. Quests that asked for the wrong item or amount ask for the right one, prerequisites and skip quests point where they should, and rewards that broke or let you skip ahead were changed.

Quests for machines whose structure or recipes changed this release describe them as they are now. Quests that named a renamed or removed item follow the change, among them the IC2 glass and iron fence, Pam's Harvest the Nether and the old AE2 wireless items. The rest is wording, typos and formatting codes.
