Nanochip Assembly Complex

Circuit production gets a multiblock of its own. It takes over the whole chain, from boards to finished processors.

Nanochip Assembly Complex

The Nanochip Assembly Complex (NAC) is a late-game multiblock that builds every circuit from ULV up to the new MAX-tier Planck-Scale Circuit. It unlocks in UEV, right before you start crafting Optical Circuits.

A Nanochip Assembly Complex

Pico and Quantum circuits leave the Assembly Line and the Advanced Assembly Line outright. The Optical circuit line recipes are now considerably more expensive outside of the NAC. A new circuit, the Planck Circuit at MAX tier, is now added and also NAC-exclusive.

The NAC has 12 module slots, each with unlimited parallel, and moves parts between them on the Vacuum Conveyor network rather than with AE2.

The Splitter module routes parts on rules you set. A rule can match on the conveyor's colour, on a redstone channel, and on up to 16 item filters, and whichever of the three you leave blank matches anything. A filter slot takes a real item as readily as a circuit component, and a custom item name counts as part of the match.

GREGOS, the pseudo-sentient program that lives in the control room, oversees it. Type talk into the controller and it answers.

The NAC also calibrates itself to the circuit family you build most of. It watches what the Assembly Matrix recently made and picks whichever family dominates that history. Then the calibration comes in three steps. Each circuit has different calibration bonuses, specified in the information panel of the NAC. How large a share of the history each step needs differs per family, and only one calibration runs at a time. Calibration points are gained depending on what type of circuit is crafted, with Processors giving the least, and Mainframes giving the most.

Primitive circuits from the NAC

The NAC also makes ULV to EV circuits, through a Primitive line of its own. The Biological Coordinator turns a processed board into Unattuned Circuitry, which the Assembly Matrix primes. One Primed Unattuned Circuitry then makes 64 ULV, 32 LV, 16 MV, 8 HV or 4 EV circuits. Primitive Circuits are much more expensive than they are in a Circuit Assembly Line, however they scale way better and way faster too, and have crazy calibration bonuses for even more circuits.
